Services & Fees:

• Arrest Reports are typically available 5 to 7 days after the date of arrest. Only the arrestee may make a request for copies of arrest reports. Some exceptions may apply, please contact the Records Division (760) 344-2111 x7767, Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, for more information.
• Crime Reports are typically available 10 to 14 days after the report is filed. Serious or more involved cases may take longer. Any involved party except the listed suspect(s) may make requests for copies of crime reports. Some exceptions may apply per Section 6254 of the Government Code. Please contact the Records Division (760) 344-2111 x7767, Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, for more information. It will expedite your call if you are able to provide the records clerk with your case number (DR#).
• Traffic Collision Reports are usually ready in 7-10 days. Before making your request, please call Records at (760) 344-2111 x-7767. Have your case number (DR#) ready, and verify that the report is ready for release.
• Request for Copies of Reports may be made in person or through the mail.
• If requesting in person, please present valid photo ID and payment of $10.00 at the Front Desk between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm Monday – Friday.
• If requesting through the mail, please enclose a note with the following information:
• your name (if your name is not listed on the report tell us how you were involved in the case);
• your case number, and if known, please supply date/time of incident and other pertinent information;
• and, your address/phone number so that we can contact you if we need more information.
• All mail requests must also include a check for $10.00 and a photocopy of valid photo ID.
• Please make checks payable to: “City of Brawley".

• Bicycle Licenses are available at the Police Department during normal business hours.
• The law requires cyclists under the age of 16 to wear a bicycle helmet.
• While obtaining your bicycle license the officer will, upon request, properly fit your helmet to you.
• Often the Department has Bicycle Helmets available, free of charge, to children who need one.

• A request for a clearance letter must be made in person at the Front Desk.
• Please bring photo identification.

• Fingerprinting is from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Thursdays only.
• No INS fingerprinting.
• No LiveScan Fingerprinting.

• Narcotics Registrants are handled Thursdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
• Arson Registrants are handled Thursdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
• Sex Registrants are handled Monday – Friday, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Court Orders

• The Brawley Police Department does not issue Restraining Orders.
• The only Orders that we issue are Emergency Protective Orders.
• Please contact your local Imperial County court for all other types of Orders. 

• Tickets can be signed off at the Front Desk 7 days a week between 8 am and 6 pm
• We will not sign off tickets for 16028 VC (Evidence of Financial Responsibility).
• Tickets issued by the Brawley Police Department are signed off free of charge.
• There is a $4.00 charge for ticket sign-offs if the ticket was issued by a law enforcement agency other than the Brawley Police Department.

• Vehicle releases are available 24 hours a day.
• Vehicles will be released to the registered owner, or to a designee of the registered owner (notarized letter required). A valid driver's license must be presented at time of release.

Impounded vehicles may have additional requirements for release. Please contact the Front Desk (760) 344-2111 X-7769 if you need further information.
