CITY ATTORN­E­Y­­

The City Atto­rn­­ey is appointed by the City Council. The Ci­t­y Attorney provides legal guidance and­ sup­por­t t­o elected City officials, City Departments and boards and commissions in the conduct of City business, represents the City in judicial and administrative proceedings and prosecutes violations ­of the Brawley Municipal Code. The City Attorney performs such other legal services required or authorized from time to time by the City Council or City Manager.

THE CURRENT INCUMBENT

Dennis Morita currently serves as City Attorney and has done so since 1991. Mr. Morita is a native of Imperial Valley and began his legal career after graduation from Loyola Law School as a deputy in the offices of the Imperial County Counsel and District Attorney.
